Kundalini Yoga 

This type of Yoga is often called the yoga of awareness and is an ancient form of yoga passed down from one yogi to another, kept secret in its native India until Yogi Bajan brought it to the West in the 1970’s.

Kundalini is a mixture of Kriyas (sets of exercises) combined with Pranayama (breathing exercises) and focus on the Chakras (the energy vortices of the body). We use Mantras (healing sounds in the form of chanting) which can help clear mental blockages or help to reaffirm and consolidate the Kriya. There’s a Kriya for every mood and part of the body; for the different seasons and Moon phases; for being uplifted, for staying calm and controlling anger.

The main purpose of Kundalini yoga is to help people achieve their maximum creative potential, free themselves from Karma (the lasting effects of past actions) and realize their true-life purpose.

A Kundalini yoga class (60 mins) can leave you feeling like you’ve cleared out your mental blockages and replaced them with joy and happiness, had an awesome workout in the gym, made it to your yoga mat to chill out and enjoyed a fun singing session with friends, all in one go!

Hatha Yoga 

Hatha yoga is considered a gentle yoga that focuses on static poses and is great for beginners. This type of yoga focuses primarily on the purification of the body as a path that leads to the purification of the mind.

It is made up of the following 3 main practices:

  • Body postures - (asanas)
  • Breathing techniques - (pranayama)
  • Relaxation and meditation - (dyana)

Our 60 mins Hatha classes are a great place to start if you are new to yoga or if you want to deepen your practice because you get the time and space to become familiar with yoga poses.

Vinyasa Yoga 

Vinyasa Yoga strings poses and movements from one to the next, and the transition coordinates with your breathing. It’s done specifically as you exhale or inhale, and it gives you the feeling that your breath is moving your body.

There are many benefits of Vinyasa yoga, you will find an improvement in your energy levels while promoting relaxation and lowering stress levels. It also offers several other benefits, including endurance and strength training, stability, balance, Cardio workout and lowers stress, because it is more fast paced compared to other types of yoga.

Our 60 mins Vinyasa sessions will provide an awareness of your breath and movement, and you can take that skillset with you into your everyday life for increased feelings of peace, calm and happiness.

Yin Yoga 

Our Yin yoga class consists of a series of long-held, passive floor poses that mainly work the lower part of the body, the hips, pelvis, inner thighs and lower spine. These areas are especially rich in connective tissues. The poses are held for a slightly longer time compared to other yoga styles. This technique creates space to focus the mind and become more in tune with the depth of our thoughts, feelings, and consciousness. 

The 60 mins Yin yoga session will benefit people who have experienced trauma or burnout by providing a safe space to reconnect to the sensations in the body without being overwhelmed by them.

Nidra Yoga

The most general description of this practice is that it combines guided mental imagery with a specific yoga posture called Shavasana (or “corpse pose”). The goal of yoga nidra is to promote a profound state of relaxation, which differs from sleep inasmuch as there is still an awareness of one's surroundings.

Our Yoga Nidra 40 mins sessions are practised before sunrise or around sunset, after our meditation session.

This style of yoga is beneficial for those wishing to release anxiety, tension and emotional instabilities. 

Breathwork

Our Breathwork sessions consists of deep abdominal breathing. We utilise various breathing practices in which the conscious control of breathing is said to influence a person's mental, emotional, or physical state, with a therapeutic effect. 

Our guests will find our 60 mins breathwork group session helpful for relaxation and stress in a similar way to meditation. The body releases old toxins, emotional blockages and trauma and brings new energy into your system. 

Group Meditation 

Whether you have meditated for years, have struggled with it or are completely new to the prospect of meditation, this will not be a factor with our easy to follow classes in which you can enter as deeply as a relaxed state as you choose to.

From simple breathing exercises to relax the body and mind, visualisations for easier manifestation to discovering your connection, to an advanced state of consciousness in which you are able to delve into untapped potential within you, there is something for everyone to explore and enjoy in our classes.

Utilising over a decade of experiences in meditation, we will guide you each step of the way in order to enhance your sense of wellbeing, and enable you to experience many scientifically proven benefits to the wonderful practice of meditation.

Hike on the Bespinar Trail

The Kyrenia mountain range is a beautifully picturesque aspect of this wonderful island. Encompassed by the deeply profound energy of nature you can enjoy the wonderful scent of pine forests, various wild flora and stunning views of the Islands’ landscape, which are truly a sight to behold. 

Our 180 mins guided hike on the ‘Baspinar trail’ have been traversed by various civilisations thought to date back to the Mycenaeans around the 15th century B.C. If you know where to look you will be able to spot evidence of the ancient history of this very special island.

The trails are suitable for most people with an average level of fitness and ability to walk for up to 3 hours along a gently inclining rugged path, with a few breaks for photos, water and meditation. The meditations will be short and easy to follow with a focus on stress relief and enhancing your sense of wellbeing using simple breathing and visualisation techniques. So whether you have meditated before or it will be your first time you will still be able to enjoy the benefits of this.

Fitness class

Our instructor has over 20 years experience as a personal trainer worked with a wide variety of clients, aged 11 to 84 years, with a plethora of abilities and goals. From people with physical disabilities to athletes and almost everyone in between. He has assisted them in losing weight, gaining muscle, increasing general fitness as well as enhancing motor skills, strength and endurance in athletes from sports such as tennis, motor racing, athletics and bodybuilding.

He is also a certified nutrition advisor, sports therapist, circuit training, spinning and kickboxercise coach who is able to provide fun, safe and effective group exercise classes.

45 minutes group fitness classes will be more generic yet scalable depending on the general fitness level of the group and 1 to 1 sessions will of course be tailored to your specific needs.

Flexibility with Neuro Drills

Our Flexibility 60 mins exercise class include activities that improve the ability of a joint to maintain the movement necessary for carrying out daily tasks and physical activity. Examples of flexibility activities include stretching and yoga.

With Neuro Drills, the goal is identify areas of disfunction with a series of assessments and activate them with a combination of drills based on your movement and injury history.

Inversions 

What are inversions? Inversions are referred to asanas in yoga that require a person to go upside down. Handstand and headstand are two very popular inversion poses. These inversions require the hips to go higher than the heart, and the heart to higher than the head.

Our 60 mins Yoga inversion class aims to help release tension, increase circulation and energy levels, and strengthen muscles. In addition to encouraging emotional growth, calm the mind and spirit, guide energy toward the heart, and help you become more connected with the earth.

Breath work and cold water therapy

Frequent exposure to cold is linked to a few different health benefits and scientists have found evidence that exposure to cold speeds up metabolism. Another benefit of exposing your body to cold is that it reduces inflammation, swelling, and sore muscles.

  • Swimming - we build up the time you spend in the water slowly.

Ashtanga Yoga

Also known as a form of power yoga and a set series of yoga poses in a swift succession each time, with the objective of merging each movement along with deep breathing. This form of Yoga is therapy for the mind, body, and soul, and requires flexibility, stamina and discipline.

Sound healing

This is a form of healing that uses different vibrations to heal the body, mind and spirit. It works on two principles: That different emotions vibrate at different levels, and that blocked, or unexpressed emotions, are the main source of dis-ease. The body is held together by sound. The presence of disease indicates that some of the sounds have gone out of tune.

Barbora's sessions encompasses a powerful therapy using sound healing instruments to improve our multidimensional well-being. Deep relaxation is the most significant benefit of sound healing, followed by its energetic deep tissue massage effect caused by the sound vibrations that open and balance the chakras, whilst releasing stuck energy.

Our 60 mins group session will help to alleviate symptoms caused by many conditions, including anxiety.

Deepak Chopra - The sound vibrations of the sound healing instruments penetrate deep into the tissue. This improves blood circulation and metabolism, regulates muscle tension, and deeply stimulates the tissue. Moreover, regeneration and repair mechanisms are stimulated.


Horse Riding 

If you are a beginner or experienced rider, this excursion is good fun and a dream for viewing the countryside and local villages, guided by experienced riders.

Village and Forest Tour:

Take a tour on horseback through the beautiful village of Karsiyaka up into the pine forest on the mountainside, with fabulous views down to the Mediterranean Sea and across to Turkey. Lots of photo opportunities along the trail.

Coastal Tour (Not Beach):

See the Mediterranean up close on horseback. This tour takes you along the coast area of Lapta with fabulous views of the Mountain Range of Karsiyaka, one of the tallest peaks of the Besparmak Mountain Range as well as views of the Mediterranean Sea.

Monastery Tour:

Take the long and winding trail up to the Monastery above the village of Karsiyaka in the foothills of the Besparmak Mountain Range. The uninterrupted views across the village down to the Mediterranean Sea are second to none, offering fabulous photo opportunities.
